Siliken offers 25-year linear power guarantee

Purchasing Siliken modules is nothing short of a safe bet, thanks to both their efficiency and their safety. Siliken’s linear guarantee ensures maximum power of its modules for 25 years. Such a guarantee is only provided by a very small number of manufacturing companies worldwide.

The 25-year linear power guarantee is a reflection of the level of reliability of Siliken photovoltaic modules; always with the clear objective of offering continuous improvement to the service it offers its customers. This guarantee ensures a 97 percent performance level for the module during the first year. From the second year through to the 25th year the performance of the module is guaranteed with a degradation level of less than or equal to 0.7 pecent per year.

Solar Frontier’s process upgrades provide 14.1% aperture area efficiency

Incremental manufacturing process step improvements have led to CIS (copper, indium, and selenium) thin-film producer Solar Frontier claiming its ‘S’ Series modules have an aperture area efficiency of 14.1% and a module efficiency of 13.0%. As a result of the efficiency improvements, the company said it was phasing out its 130W modules and replacing them with a product lineup spanning 140–160W.

This article first appeared in Solar Business Focus UK. To read more articles on UK solar market developments subscribe today! While the feed-in tariff has been grabbing all the headlines, the UK Government has quietly launched a similar cash-back scheme for solar heating in non-domestic applications. But what is this incentive scheme, how does it work and what are the best opportunities for this technology in the UK?

At the end of 2011 it seemed that photovoltaic solar energy was always in the news, with legal challenges to the government’s management of the feed-in tariff and a rush to install before tariff rates dropped. Among all of this, it would have been easy to miss the fact that a similar cash-back scheme for renewable heat technologies, including solar thermal, was launched in November.

SolarWorld - Sunmodule solar panels

Because SolarWorld produces the highest quality, we can guarantee the best performance. That's why SolarWorld is the first solar company to offer a 25-year linear performance guarantee [PDF 176KB].

According to our guarantee, the actual power of a new module cannot deviate from the specified rated power by more than 3% during the first year; and afterward, the power will not decrease by more than 0.7 percent of the rated power per year. So at year 10, the Sunmodule’s capacity is guaranteed to be at least 90% of the nameplate as opposed to the industry standard guarantee of 80%. This is added value that can help you get your project sold or financed.
